Kindergarten: Genavieve
This student has worked hard to improve in so many areas. She is polite and is using her manners more. She tries to help everyone including classmates, friends outside the classroom, and teachers. It is with great pleasure to nominate Genavieve.
1st Grade: Wesley
I would like to nominate for the Kid of Character award. He is caring and considerate to his classmates and friends. He is always willing to help a friend out and to help in the classroom whenever needed. He strives to do his best and is always eager to learn. He is a wonderful student, classmate, friend....and an excellent brother!
2nd Grade: Aliyah
This student is very hardworking and tries very hard in all subjects. This student has a very big desire to learn and is very respectful to adults, other students, and classmates. She follows directions and class rules. She truly exemplifies what a good citizen should be. So, today, I have chosen Aliyah for the Kid of Character award. Congratulations, Aliyah!!
3rd Grade: Tanner
Tanner is the 3rd grade kid of character. He showed a great amount of bravery when he broke his arm at school on Grandparent's Day. He had planned to do his demonstration for his grandma and the class after recess so when he came in with a hurt arm he just did it one handed. He made a Strawberry Slushy for everyone in the class. It was delicious! He had so much courage and managed the demonstration with one hand!! It just goes to show that when Tanner puts his mind to do something he gets it done!
MS: Cara and Dawn
Cara is being nominated for her thoughtfulness in making our new student feel very welcomed into our district by making cupcakes for the bus riders to welcome him to our school. As far as I can tell, that was her idea exclusively. What an act of kindness!
Dawn has come a long ways since her 6th grade year. Academically she has become a strong student when compared to two years ago. The character part comes as a result of her politeness. She came up to me after the dance and thanked me. Mr. Meyer said she thanking him for allowing her to lift weights rather than playing basketball in PE. Being thoughtful of her classmates seems to be her strength now.
