History
OPPD established Power Drive in 1998 to give high school students a hands-on way to apply their studies and promote interest in automotive energy technologies and careers. http://www.oppd.com/AboutUs/PowerDrive/index.htm
Power Drive is an educational program, which requires students to design and construct one-person electric vehicles during the school year. About the last weekend in March, these teams compete in organized rallies at Hastings, Lincoln, Columbus and others. These tracks are a mixed combination of strait-away and road courses where many tests such as braking, maneuverability and endurance with be performed.
