Making a difference one letter at a time.

It is strange to think how writing a letter can make such a world of difference, but, to some, it does.  And this quarter, five senior students from High Plains Community Schools are discovering just how powerful a letter can be.  For these five seniors, one of their senior community service projects has been writing letters to soldiers and veterans.  Not only did they write letters themselves, but these five seniors also worked with the fourth and fifth graders to write letters and encouraged other students in the high school to write letters for the cause.  “In addition to writing letters, we also wanted . . . read more

High Plains FFA Finishing Strong as First Semester Winds Down

The High Plains FFA has been very busy this semester.  FFA members have completed a number of activities and events including several that were philanthropic.  In September, the FFA High Plains chapter gave away 270 shirts to the High Plains staff, FFA members, and K-8 students free of charge to help promote FFA and Ag education.   In October, the High Plains FFA group had five students from the Agronomy class participate in the Land Judging contest on October 8 th .
